Packing Pictures & Mirrors

Pack like a professional with the following tutorial

  • Very large Pictures / Mirrors  may require their own crate to avoid damage.

  • Small pictures can be packed in appropriate sized cartons.

  • Prepare your packing area around waist height to avoid stretching and risk of injury to your back.

  • Make up your first carton and fold the tops over, then make up another carton and sit this on top of the first.  This will allow you to place items in the box without over stretching.  Once full replace the empty bottom carton with the packed carton and start again.

  • Wrap pictures individually and then pack them face to face (this prevents damage as both faces are smooth unlike the rear which has protruding hooks for hanging wire).

  • Tape the glass of the Picture / Mirror in a Union Jack style (this helps to strengthen the glass).

  • Some frames will require bubble wrapping if ornate.

  • Once wrapped in bubble wrap or Bedding/Blankets etc tape a flat carton over the front and back for extra protection and mark as FRAGILE.
