Packing Chandeliers, Light fittings and Lamps
Pack like a professional with the following tutorial
Prepare your packing area around waist height to avoid stretching and risk of injury to your back.
Make up your first carton and fold the tops over, then make up another carton and sit this on top of the first. This will allow you to place items in the box without over stretching. Once full replace the empty bottom carton with the packed carton and start again.
Loose pieces, pendants should be removed and wrapped separately in paper, tissue or bubble wrap.
Bulbs should be removed and wrapped separately (ensure the bulb has been switched off prior to removal to avoid burning your fingers)
Fill the base of your carton with Scrunched paper, tissue or Flo Chip (polystyrene pieces)
Place the light gently in to the carton and fill the space around it to prevent movement
The best way to pack and transport a Chandelier is to have it hanging from a secured baton from the top of the carton
When packing Lamps it is best to remove all shades and pack seperately
Make sure your hands are clean as Lamp shades can be easily marked
Handle the shades by holding the frames
Wrap the shades individually and then place them into one another within the carton
Fill any gaps with scrunched paper, tissue or bubble wrap
Seal the carton and label as Fragile
