Moving home is said to be one of the most stressful exercises to be undertaken, even for a seasoned Mover.
A key factor when preparing to move is timing everything just right, and not adding to the already high stress levels with easily avoided mistakes through poor planning.
Packing your effects is probably one of the most demanding challenges in preparation for your move and requires time and care to be packed safely and correctly.

Below we have listed some essential tips and advice to help you pack like a professional and keep your belongings safe.

1.Pack yourself? - The main reason that you may choose to pack yourself is often to keep the cost of your move down. Before deciding to undertake this challenge, please check first with your selected Mover as to how much they will charge as you might be surprised.
2.What to pack? - Moving home is the perfect excuse to de-clutter and rid your home of those forgotten or unwanted items. The less you are taking with you the less you are going to pay for your move.
You could sell your unwanted goods at a local car boot sale or on-line market place and use the funds tor your move.
3.When to start packing? - You have decided that you are definitely going to move? then start your preparation's, It is never too early!!
4. Packing Timetable - Make a packing Timetable and plan your packing in order of importance allowing plenty of time.
5. Ask for help - Do not be afraid to ask Family & Friend's for help. The more hand's the easier the task
6. Packing Materials – you can’t start the packing project without having secured the required packing materials.
You may be tempted to source boxes from your local shop / supermarkets etc in an attempt to save money but this could prove costly and end in tears.
Professional purpose made moving cartons are 2/3 ply which provides stability and stack-ability:
The majority of cartons used by your local Supermarket / shop are only single ply and will not withstand the pressure of moving, the result of which will be crushed cartons, damaged possessions and possibly extra charges from your selected mover as they are unable to stack the boxes in the same manner they could with a proffesional moving carton thus increasing the volume needed to transport your goods.

7. Remember Step 2 - Household items optimization? Don’t skip the step of inventorying your home and sorting out all of the stuff found under its roof. Be pro-active and earn money by selling the things you no longer need
8. Do not waste additional time packing items that are not safe for transportation. Hazardous materials that are flammable, corrosive or explosive pose a serious threat when being moved between houses, so make sure you dispose of them properly before the packing marathon starts.
9. Safe packing is your ultimate goal and all of the help and advice you may need can be found in our Moving Advice & Training Centre.
10. Where to start packing for a move? The best course of action is to initiate the packing process from the toughest rooms to pack so that it gets easier the closer you get to the scheduled move day. Storage areas such as garages, basements, and attics are usually the most challenging spaces to pack up when moving.
After you’re done packing the storage areas in your home, the question of which rooms to pack first becomes much clearer – start with the rooms that you use less frequently to avoid cluttering them up with packed boxes and packing supplies, and end with the ones that you occupy on a daily basis.
11, What to pack first when moving out? The things to pack first include rarely used items that you can pre-pack very early in the packing process. Locate and box up all..
a, the non-essentials you can find in your home to get the flying start you want.
b, Packing up your entire home in one go simply won’t work. Instead, break down your packing jobs by rooms, and then break those up into even smaller mini-projects. This tactical move will help you keep your motivation up, which in turn will speed up the whole process.
c, Designate one room as a packing station – the central hub of your packing activities. That tactic you will help you enjoy free access to the rest of your home without having to battle your way through randomly placed mountains of already packed boxes.
