Packing Glassware
Pack like a professional with the following tutorial
Prepare your packing area around waist height to avoid stretching and risk of injury to your back.
Make up your first carton and fold the tops over, then make up another carton and sit this on top of the first. This will allow you to place items in the box without over stretching. Once full replace the empty bottom carton with the packed carton and start again.
Glassware is particularly fragile and is prone to rim and stem damage.
Extra protection should be given to stems and make sure all edges are covered.
Place a layer of scrunched paper in the base of the carton
Pack glassware vertically in the carton as this is the strongest position.
Fill any gaps with scrunched paper to prevent movement
Place a layer of scrunched paper on top before starting the next layer or sealing the carton.
Mark as fragile.
